Care Connect
In an era where food delivery, transportation, and shopping have been completely transformed, healthcare seems to still be stuck in the 20th century. So we asked ourselves: What if finding and getting healthcare was easy and seamless? What if healthcare was proactive rather than reactive? These were among many questions that we tackled when reimagining what a healthcare app could look like.
The Brief
Target Audience: Patients and caregivers
Opportunity: Make it easy and seamless for patients to get the care that they need, whether it be preventative or supporting a current condition.
Design principles: Personalized, contextual, human.
Brainstorming Features
How might we improve the experience for patients when using an app to get care:
Appointments
A smart symptom-based appointment booking system that takes into account the patient’s symptoms to suggest the right doctor. For a first time visit, the patient has the option to share her medical history with the doctor beforehand. The in-app check-in mechanism allows patients to avoid waiting in queues at the hospital reception. All the doctor’s notes are available to the patient post-consultation to enable clarity of understanding her diagnosis.
My Health
A vault which allows easy-access to the patient’s medical history including allergies, immunizations, health condition, and test results.
Care Card
Specialized medical care regimes designed by the hospital for different situations like pre/ post-operative care, chronic illness, etc.
Medications
A simple system that reminds the patient to take her medications on time
Connect Health Trackers (FitBit, Google Fit, Apple watch)
The app connects with health trackers to monitor daily vitals of the patient.
Add dependents
The primary user can add dependents and easily switch between profiles to manage their health
Messages
A channel for the patient to chat with the doctor
Care Team
Quickly accessing the details of the patient’s primary care-givers
Contextual Home Feed
Patients want to be informed about their upcoming appointments, prescription refills, and new messages. The homepage provides all of this information contextually so that patients never miss a beat.
Lab Results
Viewing and understanding lab results is often a confusing experience for patients. We created an easy to understand readout of lab results with historical context and trends.
Voice Search
When patients need care or help, they want it fast. Instead of having to navigate through the app in order to find what they need, voice search gets them to the right place quickly and effortlessly.
Pre-Surgery Checklist
Adhering to pre and post-op instructions is a big pain point for patients. We reimagined how patients with surgeries can keep track of care instructions, ensuring that they are set up for successful outcomes.
Check In
Checking in for an appointment can be unpredictable and cumbersome. What if patients no longer have to wait in line to check in? They can simply open the app, check in, and pay for their visit with one tap.
Smart Appointment Booking
Booking an appointment with a doctor is a very common use case. The opportunity here was to better match patients with the right doctor based on their symptoms and the doctor’s expertise.
